Navy Relief

Navy relief is the name of a civilian program that helps sailors in need. In my eyes, the very existence of the navy relief program is acknowledgement of a problem at hand, the US Navy. I have come across so many examples of non humanity within the navy, and have seen statistics which show many consider suicide relief from the navy. Why is the navy so bad? There is virtually no feedback loop within the navy and the navy likes to escalate things. Recently one of the kids that was on my boat started talking about suicide, and now they are trying to screw him bad. They are sure he is faking it, just like all the others who have used suicide for navy relief. If he dies it will be a surprise...

On the same underway a friend of mine had his house burn down while he was at sea. His chain of command would not even let him take a single day off work to do things like...find a house, buy clothes, buy hygiene equipment... This is indicative of the navy relief I remember. He had to come to my house for a place to stay, as I was his navy relief.

It is no secret that the navy destroys many lives and rarely holds itself accountable. They do not understand why suicide is a viable alternative to the navy for many people. In my eyes the only navy relief is to never join or to get out immediately. As I experienced, the pains of the navy only grow over time.
