it has gotten to the point that it has application outside the military a guy off my boat came near me and some girls in a club he asked her how long I have been her boyfriend for she said never and he said that's not what he said ... ha heoe he was not my friend but a shipmate
we let guys off our boat stay at our house free while we were underway and paying rent one broke a window which has still not been fixed the best guy stole $600, ran up 2 phone bills, stopped paying for garbage and left it on the porch, ran up a huge electric bill, used all the heating oil, borrowed a car for a few thousand miles, and never paid one cent of any bill (update: paid $400 after was threatened to be turned in. my roommates are willing to let that slide and it disgusts me) the term shipmate has nothing to do with being human and not a piece of shit
the perfect example would be when I met a cool girl on a Thursday and she was going to drive an hour and a half to see me some of my shipmates came over to pick me up and we went to exercise then to a cage fight at the casino the fight started later than we thought, and they were lasting long I always take an end seat at public events so a pretty girl can sit next to me which one did half way through she said she was a model and she was flirting with me a lot when she got up a guy sat where she was sitting to shipmate me I, being aware of shipmate moves, got up and got a soda I accidentally bumped her as she had me earlier many times and then I sat back down before the girls did she made that guy move I then shipmated myself by leaving without hooking up with this pretty girl and missing the best fights the other girl got off work early to come to my house and my roommate said I wasn't around and .... she was gone by the time I had gotten home and I had to ride back 45 minutes each way to pick up my friends completed the self administered shipmate move My name is Aaron Wall. I am 76 inches of manlove hunk with green eyes who is in great .... Just kidding. I grew up in Illinois although they probably would not want to claim me. I grew up moving to smaller and smaller towns. After high school I became a nuclear reactor operator in the navy. Found that lifestyle and life in general not worthwhile, and understand why there are so many suicides or suicide attempts in the navy. I did 5.5 years on a 6 year contract to get no benefits and told what a piece of shit I am. I am honored to have wasted so much of my life on something so horrible. I feel I will never again be able to be that wasteful without actually killing myself. I drank and used drugs into trouble. Many people tried to define me and what I believe is that I have a hard time lying to myself. Each waking day in the Navy for about 2.5 years I was forced to lie to myself when justifying life as I knew it. Before and after my enlistment I have never woke up in a place not knowing how I got there. While enlisted I probably completed this feat 20 times. This was the source of my problems. In a no so rare twist of irony I am forced to smile. The kid that turned me in for my drug usage (after frequently talking to me about his WEED habit) was advanced based on the fact that he turned me in, not on merit, over some deserving people. This guy was so loyal to the navy that within one week of my discharge he had already threatened to cut up his wrists to leave the boat. He obviously was a far greater asset to the navy than I. After all, I was merely the best reactor operator on the boat while he was a cook. I was not qualified for his job because my ASVAB was too high. He told me that he turned me in because he was worried about the safety of the crew. After I worked with him in the galley I saw his high personal standards in action. I watched him rinse off chicken then fell out of the pan into a sink full of dirty deck towels then place it right back in the pan. The navy is full of helpful psychologists who sent him back to work when he was doing that in a good mind set and when he does something wrong in a bad mind set then it will be a total surprise. I guess I just never cared as much as he did. What am I really trying to say? Shipmates claim to have no affect on each other as they destroy their best members socially, physically, economically and psychologically. I am not trying to say I would rather be in jail than enlisted on a submarine, however I would have been much more accepting of my fate if I knew that it was intended as a punishment or if I would have done something wrong to arrive in the cell (not that you necisarily need to.) In jail I doubt they would make me huff paint and tell me not to do drugs. In the cell they would probably have the decency to tell me that I was being involved in a psychological test before they started manipulating my oxygen levels for their best interests.
