Full military benifits earlyI am changing my ways. I would normally advise a person not to enlist, but now that I think of it...reenlisting is good. It is true I am saying reenlisting is good, but only after three years and one day. After 3 years all of the montgomery gi bills benefits are locked in as long as you reenlist after 3 years in. To reenlist you they have to discharge you. This discharge, which while I was in the navy was honorable locks in all Montgomery gi bills. (check to ensure this is still the policy) If you accidentally develop a drug problem right afterward and turn yourself in then you can be removed from service, but that can not be the basis of the characteristic. What does all of this mean??? timeline
Please verify that reenlisting gives you an honorable discharge. It was that way while I was in, but it is such a blatant loophole than (as dumb as they are) I am sure they can not ignore forever. This is a plan a friend used and recommended. I am only relaying the idea. I never actually did it, I was stupid and tried lasting out my horrible enlistment.
That is better than the horrible life threatening 5.5 years I did, and you keep full military benifits.
